Bridal Party
Colleen Butler - Matron of Honor
I first met Colleen through her now-husband, Jordan, who I worked with at Revlon—and I’m so glad that friendship brought her into my life. These days, we spend our time walking together, catching up on Bravo and The Bachelorette, and enjoying plenty of double dates filled with great food and even better wine. She’s been such an important part of my world, and I’m so lucky to have her standing beside me on this day.
Christina (Tina) Kushner - Maid of Honor
Tina and I met while working at Revlon, and we instantly clicked. From our very first rollerblading adventure together, I knew she was going to be a lifelong friend. Over the years, we’ve traveled together, shared countless laughs, and tackled just about every activity you can think of. Our dogs are even (somewhat reluctant) besties, which feels perfectly fitting. She’s been by my side through all of life’s highs and lows, and I can’t imagine this day without her standing beside me.
Amy Spurling - Bridesmaid
Amy is my twin sister and one of the most creative people I know—I have so much of her artwork hanging in my house. We love going to concerts (sometimes for artists I’ve never even heard of, but they’re always a blast), watching movies, exploring gardens, visiting museums, and catching plays together. I couldn’t imagine this day without her by my side, just like she has been for every other important moment in my life.
Anna Strawn - Bridesmaid
Anna and I were randomly paired for a group project in college and instantly bonded over our shared frustration with the third group member who didn’t pull their weight. One night after the project, we stayed up for hours talking in her dorm room and became best friends on the spot. Over the years, we’ve painted pottery, eaten our way through every Asian restaurant we could find, and now we even work together at Cisco (thanks to her for referring me!). I’m so lucky to have her in my life and standing by my side on this day.
Christina Chapman - Bridesmaid
Christina and I met during Pi Beta Phi recruitment at NC State when we were standing in line together—and she quickly realized I have terrible rhythm because I can’t clap on beat. We got to live together in the sorority house and later shared an apartment our senior year (she’s still the best roommate I’ve ever had). These days, I love visiting her at the beach and getting snuggles from her sweet dog, Lily. Christina is one of the most generous people I know and is always there when you need her—I’m so lucky to have her by my side.
Keyan Liu - Bridesmaid
Keyan and I met at Revlon and became fast friends. Even when she moved back to China for a few years, we stayed in touch—and now that she’s back, it feels like she never left. She works harder than anyone I know, but when she finally takes a break, we make up for lost time with kayaking adventures, homemade Chinese food nights, arts and crafts projects, and plenty of games (with lots of laughs along the way). Life is always more fun with Keyan around, and I’m so excited to have her by my side on this day!
Megan Overby - Bridesmaid
Megan and I met sophomore year when we were suitemates at NC State, and we’ve stayed close ever since. From cheering at football games and trying new restaurants to getting plenty of love from her dog, Zoey, and her cat, Opal, every time I visit, we’ve shared so many fun memories over the years. I’m so grateful for her friendship and couldn’t imagine this day without her by my side.
Groomsmen
Alec Middleton - Best Man
Alec has been my lifelong friend since around 3 months old. We went to the same elementary (except grade 3-5, stupid school district boundaries), middle, high school, and college. We were in every sport together except hockey and wrestling, the latter requiring more skill and strength than he had. Suffice it to say Alec has been there through it all with me. Currently living in Chicago with his Fiancé Mary Kate, we
maintain our friendship through video games and direct flights.
Ben Shuler - Groomsman
Ben was one of the first lifelong friends I made at Indiana University, many of
whom will be at the wedding. Like Jack, Ben and I spent way too many nights of being
up to no good. Through our love of Video games and having a good time, any chance I
get to go back to Bloomington I make sure to have a night out with Ben.
Christian May - Groomsman
Christian was a roommate of Bens when we first met in 2015, between 2015-
2018, refer to Ben and Jacks section for info. Since then, Christian and I maintained a
friendship when I moved to North Carolina for work, as he had just moved to Virigina
beach. Through several road trips, couple flights, and you guessed it, video games, he
and I have remain close.
Cory Gardner - Groomsman
Cory is my brother and one of the most enterprising people I know. Founding his own company, he has been an insight as to what true dedication and disciple can do when applied right. We love going out to eat any random exotic places and don’t shy away from something we cannot pronounce.
Jack Alfonso - Groomsman
Jack and I were roommates at Indiana University and suffered our final two years of academia together. Many nights were had watching horror movies, staying up till 4
am, doing anything but what we were supposed to. Over the years my career has enabled me to keep in touch and visit jack in whatever city he’s currently living in.
Jordan Butler - Groomsman
Jordan and I met through Rachel (he is married to Rachel's Matron of Honor, Colleen). Jordan and I
bonded over our love for beer and socializing with friends at every waking moment.
Jordan will melt without social interaction, and that keeps introverts like me in check.
Whether it’s out grilling, losing sports bets, or hanging out at any given brewery, Jordan
is always there to have a good time.
Tim Jones - Groomsman
Tim and I met in several of our programming classes and through mutual friends; however, we bonded over our very last semester together against “The Radical Frenchman”, a professor we had. He has been a source of insights and has always brought a good time with him wherever he goes. Currently living in Bloomington Indiana I try and see him when we can’t game together.
